Nfu-Oh 51

A special polish for a special day.

Yesterday I graduated from college. It's phenomenal to finally have my B.A. Nfu-Oh 51 is such a complex polish, I felt it was appropriate to wear for the occasion. Purple jelly with multichrome shimmer (a la Clarins 230) and flakies. It's stunning and I never want to take it off. The brush was a little wonky, but that's nothing a trim won't fix. Ahhhh loss for words.

China Glaze Agro Comparisons

More comparisons! This time we're focusing on China Glaze Agro.

In the sun.

There are slight color differences in each. AYQ&C is the most different and the sheerest. Agro had the best formula and only needed one & a half coats. Agro, Peace on Earth, & Mossy Britches are extremely similar, but not dupes. I returned Agro because I didn't think I needed it. I also plan on getting rid of Mossy Britches, because I just don't need it. Plus it's core at Sally's, so it's easy to find.

Barielle Do Unto Others

Boyfriend picked this one. I'll occasionally ask him "What color should I paint my nails?!" and he'll respond with "Whatever your heart desires" or "I don't know, you have so many!". Today, however, when I asked, he said "Something turquoise! Not shimmery." Since I've already worn Essie Turquoise & Caicos, that was out. It was between China Glaze Aquadelic & Barielle Do Unto Others. I went with the Barielle.

I'm sure glad I did! This is two medium-thick coats.

The formula itself was a little on the thick side. It wasn't runny and I had good control. I felt like the formula was getting thicker as I continued to paint though (from being exposed to the air?) so I added a drop or two of thinner between coats. It helped slightly. I added 4-ish more drops when I was done painting completely.

The color is gorgeous. Stunning. It glows. I'm in my dimly-lit room as I type this post and I keep getting distracted by how awesomely bright my nails look. It's a perfect combination of green and blue, with green being more prominent. I'm not great with colors, so I don't know if this is really turquoise or if it's actually aqua. Is there even a difference? I suppose it doesn't really matter, any nail color that is any combination of green and blue is fabulous. Anyway, I got some black flecks on my thumb from my top coat and I was heartbroken. This polish has made Top 20 status; that's how much I love it.

Matches my phone case perfectly. Perhaps there's a reason I love this color so much?

Here it is matte. *le sigh*

Essie Glass Slipper

I'm gonna go ahead and guess that this was 3 coats. Yeahhhh. It's a frosty white with silver glitter. I'm not too thrilled about it but it's an older Essie, so when you think about it, this was unique and edgy. These pictures bore me but I'm not sure if I can part with it yet.

Random thought: Do you ever get really sad when you finish eating your bagel?

Not so random thought: Today is my last day of school EVER, yay! This means more posts! I don't have a job right now so there might be A LOT of posts :] I'm really excite to be able to focus on the blog more.
